We will explore recent research, as well as current student expectations, in the area of holistic career development – specifically, the value of deep inquiry into spirituality and meaning in the context of discovering one’s life calling. Participants will learn both theory and methodology for engaging students in an intentional dialogue to facilitate their career development at the deepest possible level. We will also consider the benefits of a paradigm shift – reframing motivation for career planning that is often based on selfaggrandizement, to one based on a consideration of needs (local, national, and/or global) which inspire students to act.
