Job Description:

Provides career advising, guidance and counseling to current students and alumni, both those who are undecided about major and career options and experience alumni who are changing career fields. Develop career exploration activities to assist students and graduates who are in need of identifying, exploring or changing a career direction.

Provides liaison to designated academic departments and programs on career issues. Coordinates Career Fairs and other campus events related to career development. Performs all duties at a high level of multicultural competence fitting with NEIU’s student body

Job Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Counseling or a related field with concentration in Career Counseling
  • Demonstrated work experience in career services in a higher education institution in the area of employer relations, recruitment and program development (This position requires a background check.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Counseling, or related field with concentration in Career Counseling
  • Demonstrated work experience in career services in higher education institution
  • Experience working with students unsure about their career or major paths
