Job Description:
Ball State University’s Career Center is accepting applications for their next Assistant Director/Career Coach to join their nationally recognized, award-winning team. Integrated into the strategic plan, this team is empowered to be innovative and leaders in the career services industry.
Position function: coordinate programs and services for students, alumni and faculty in selected academic departments and liaison; coordinate career planning and job search programs and activities; provide career advising services and educational programs for students and alumni through individual appointments and group presentations and discussion; assist with employer development and recruitment activities.
Job Requirements:
Minimum qualifications:
- Master’s degree by date of appointment from an accredited college or university.
- One year of related experience.
- Skills in time management and meeting deadlines, attention to detail, exceptional customer service, planning, leadership, MS Office, ability to use technology to seek information; excellent oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills; creativity/vision.
- Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred qualifications:
- One year of experience in higher education setting such as career services, counseling, academic advising, residence life, or admissions or in a related/transferable professional work experience outside of higher education.
- Familiarity with career planning and employment and with career development theory; program development, management and presentation delivery; ability to supervise students.
