Professional Exchange Site Visits

Join your colleagues on a Professional Exchange Employer Site Visit, which will be held on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. These site visits are $30.00 each. Transportation (if needed) and tour fees are included in the site visit registration costs.

Advance registration is required and spaces are limited!

Attendees may register for and attend a morning and an afternoon site visit if desired. All participants are required to show a valid photo ID at the employer's location. 

Lunch will not be provided during the site visits. Please plan accordingly.

Site Visit Schedule:

Registration Limit: 30 participants

Participants will meet in the hotel lobby at 9:00 AM to board shuttle (included in registration). The tour takes place from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM and then you will be transported back to the hotel. 

Harley’s team of professionals in product development, digital office, and manufacturing
will present available positions and hiring needs with a walking tour of the site to follow. Closed toe shoes are required and Proper Protective Equipment (steel-toe shoes/caps, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs) will be provided. Participants must have ability to move through a walking tour. No use of cell phones or photography is permitted.

Urban Ecology Center

Site Visit Schedule:

Registration Limit: 30 participants

Participants will meet in the hotel lobby at 9:15 AM and take transportation to the Urban Ecology Center. The tour takes place from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. 

The visit begins with the Green Building Tour, followed by a presentation about the “Green Careers” Summer Internship Program. Free time will be provided at the end of the tour for participants to explore the center. Key takeaways include learning about the Urban Ecology Center and its mission as well as the ways they use sustainable practices in the building. Participants will also have a good understanding of the

Internships and employment opportunities available at the UEC including the Green Careers Internship Program

Milwaukee Water Works

Site Visit Schedule:

Registration Limit: 20 participants

Participants will meet in the hotel lobby at 9:15 AM. Milwaukee Water Works is a short 10 minutes drive and transportation will be provided. The tour takes place from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM.

VIEW ARTICLE / VIDEO

The Water Plants Manager will provide a brief tour of the Linnwood Water Treatment Plant pump room and filter bed floor. Water Quality Manager Michelle Natarajan will provide a brief tour of the lab. Engineer in Charge Karl Rohrbach will provide a brief presentation on the work of the engineering section.

Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of personnel in the Plants, Water Quality, and Engineering sections, including what kinds of education and experience are required for various positions in these sections.

Engineering: Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering. Technician positions – Desirable qualifications – related coursework and/or Associates Degree in Civil Engineering Technology.

Participants will meet in the hotel lobby at 12:30 PM and walk to Northwestern Mutual. The tour takes place from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM.
